\nAdvisor to the Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif on Wednesday announced that a peace agreement has been successfully signed between both parties involved in the Kurram dispute, following a Grand Jirga.
\nHe described the signing as a major milestone toward restoring peace and stability in the region.
\nMr Saif revealed that the agreement includes key provisions such as the demolition of bunkers and the handover of heavy weaponry. Ground convoys are set to depart on Saturday to oversee the implementation of the accord.
\nOne party had signed the agreement a few days ago, while the other party finalized the signing on Wednesday, he claimed.
\nDuring the signing ceremony, Saif congratulated the people of Kurram and expressed optimism that the agreement would pave the way for a new era of peace and prosperity in the region. He assured that normalcy would soon be restored.
\nHighlighting the crucial role of the Grand Jirga and the cooperation of Kurram\u2019s residents, Saif underscored that the agreement is an essential step toward achieving sustainable peace.
\nHe praised the collective effort in bringing both parties to the negotiating table.
\nAdditionally, Saif confirmed that the provincial government is committed to resolving the Kurram dispute in a permanent and sustainable manner.
\nIn a recent meeting with former Senator Sajjad Turi and members of the Jirga, detailed discussions were held regarding the peace agreement.
\nBarrister Saif emphasized that a comprehensive roadmap has been developed to ensure long-term peace.
\nThe provincial government, he noted, is focused not just on resolving the dispute in the short term but on finding a lasting solution that brings lasting tranquility and prosperity to the people of Kurram.
