The departments concerned were directed to prepare plans for organizing at the divisional level, which will be fully financed by the provincial government. In addition, each girl will receive Rs 200,000 in cash.<br \/>\nThe decision was taken in a special meeting of the social welfare department chaired by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Khan Gandapur at Chief Minister\u2019s Secretariat here on Monday.<br \/>\nAccording to an official statement, the meeting focused on utilizing Zakat and dowry funds, alongside other provincial government welfare initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable and deserving segments of society.<br \/>\nChief Minister Gandapur directed authorities to finalize these programs promptly and ensure that only deserving individuals benefit from this initiative. Mass wedding programs will also be extended to the district level after divisional headquarters. The Chief Minister emphasized making the shelters in the province a permanent feature by incorporating their budgets into the provincial government\u2019s permanent budget.<br \/>\nHe further directed the immediate activation of any inactive shelters to ensure timely service delivery to the needy.<br \/>\nChief Minister Gandapur also announced the provision of wheelchairs to disabled students. Initially, wheelchairs will be provided to disabled students at higher educational institutions, with authorities instructed to collect the necessary data to facilitate the initiative.<br \/>\nThe statement stated that the meeting approved a proposal to establish an old age home in Peshawar for senior citizens. The facility will not only provide accommodation but also offer entertainment and recreational activities for the elderly.<br \/>\nA decision was made to issue orphan cards for orphans and destitute children. School-level orphans and vulnerable children will receive Rs 5,000 per month through these cards, providing them with much-needed financial support.<br \/>\nThe Chief Minister also approved the issuance of ration cards for elderly widows, which will entitle them to Rs 5,000 per month to help with their living expenses.<br \/>\nChief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur reiterated the provincial government\u2019s unwavering commitment to supporting the poor and vulnerable, in line with the vision of the founding chairman, Imran Khan.<br \/>\nHe emphasized that one of the key features of an Islamic welfare state was ensuring the well-being of the weak and destitute, and the government was utilizing all available resources to advance these welfare measures.<br \/>\nThe Chief Minister directed the concerned authorities to prepare a detailed working plan within a week to implement these proposed initiatives without delay.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PESHAWAR: The provincial government has decided to organize mass wedding ceremonies for over 4,000 deserving girls under the dowry fund.
