The Central Information Secretary of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Sheikh Waqas Akram on Tuesday expressed grave concerns regarding recent statements made by the Chief Minister of Punjab, which he described as alarming and threatening.
\nHe condemned the language used by the Chief Minister, asserting that it reflects an intention to harm PTI founder Imran Khan, who is currently being treated brutally in jail.
\nSpeaking at a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club (PPC), PTI leader drew parallels between the current situation and the attack on Khan in Wazirabad, recalling that similar rhetoric was used by Maryam Nawaz and other leaders at that time.
\nHe noted, \u201cIf there is any harm to Khan Sahib\u2019s life, it will not be tolerated.\u201d
\nAkram highlighted the strong support PTI has received from the public, particularly noting the electoral turnout from May 9 to February 8, which he believes underscores the party\u2019s strength.
\nHe criticized the Punjab government\u2019s recent actions, including statements labeling the KP House in Islamabad as a \u201chaven for terrorists\u201d shortly before an attack, and described the Punjab government\u2019s handling of wheat procurement as a failure.
\nHe also mentioned ongoing arrests of PTI workers in Punjab, emphasizing that the party remains united across regions.
