PESHAWAR
\nChief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur on Friday said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is taking all possible steps to increase investment significantly in the health sector to make it financially self-sufficient.
\nHe expressed these while attending a ceremony at Khyber Medical University (KMU) as the guest of honor to distribute certificates to 72 in-service nurses who completed their advanced training, conducted in collaboration with Chester University, UK.
\nThe event was attended by members of the provincial cabinet, including Meena Khan Afridi, Syed Fakhar Jahan, Ehtesham Ali, as well as health department officials and the KMU Vice-Chancellor.
\nIn his address, Chief Minister Gandapur congratulated the graduates, expressing hope that they would apply their new skills to serve the public.
\nHe emphasized the sacred nature of the medical profession and highlighted the provincial government\u2019s commitment to enhancing healthcare.
\n\u201cMerit and fairness will be strictly maintained in the duty rosters of doctors and nurses,\u201d he said, adding that recommendations would not influence assignments.
\nHe noted that training for private-sector nurses is planned for the next phase, following the ongoing initiative aimed at boosting nurses\u2019 professional competence.
\nGandapur praised the province\u2019s potential and affirmed that the government is investing significantly in the health sector to make it financially self-sufficient.
