{"id":71596,"date":"2024-10-15T07:42:24","date_gmt":"2024-10-15T02:42:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nabanews.pk\/en\/?p=71596"},"modified":"2024-10-15T07:42:24","modified_gmt":"2024-10-15T02:42:24","slug":"kp-assembly-session-emphasis-on-unity-dialogue-for-peace-restoration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nabanews.pk\/en\/kp-assembly-session-emphasis-on-unity-dialogue-for-peace-restoration\/","title":{"rendered":"KP Assembly session emphasis on unity, dialogue for peace restoration"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PESHAWAR<br \/>\nDuring a recent session of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, opposition leader and leader of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Dr Ibadullah highlighted the positive role played by lawmakers in the Khyber Jirga and stressed that restoring law and order should be the government\u2019s top priority.<br \/>\nHe emphasized the unity among all political parties in the province aimed at achieving peace and resolving long standing disputes in the former Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).<br \/>\nDr Ibadullah advocated for dialogue and negotiation, urging the government to listen to the grievances of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) and others who suffered in the tribal belt from the scourge of terrorism and operations.<br \/>\nFaisal Karim Kundi, the parliamentary leader of the Pakistan People\u2019s Party (PPP), also echoed these sentiments, underscoring the importance of unity among assembly members and political parties for restoration of peace and stability of the province.<br \/>\nHe stated that collective efforts could achieve what once seemed impossible and called for adherence to constitutional demands while rejecting any unconstitutional propositions.<br \/>\nKundi expressed optimism that with continued unity, the assembly could effectively reach its goals.<br \/>\nChief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur addressed the assembly, critiquing the federal government\u2019s heavy-handed approach, which he claimed resulted in the deaths of four individuals in the Khyber Jirga.<br \/>\nHe asserted that power should not always be exercised forcefully, as it often leads to dire consequences.<br \/>\nGandapur mentioned the peaceful conclusion of the Jirga held in Khyber district, which had a 22-point agenda developed through consultations with political parties and PTM leaders.<br \/>\nReflecting on the region\u2019s history, he noted the impact of two superpowers over the last 45 years, arguing that local perspectives have often been overlooked in the quest for peace.<br \/>\nHe recognized the sacrifices made by local people who were displaced from their homes and pledged to implement the province\u2019s constitutional responsibilities fully.<br \/>\nThe Chief Minister proposed forming a committee to address the Kurram district issue, emphasizing the need for faith, good intentions, and prioritizing national interests over personal agendas.<br \/>\nHe cautioned that actions taken today will shape history and reiterated the assembly\u2019s responsibility to improve conditions for the youth, steering the province towards the aspirations of its people.<br \/>\nOverall, the session reflected a commitment to collaborative efforts aimed at addressing grievances and restoring stability in KP.<br \/>\nThe KP Assembly has been adjourned until Wednesday, October 16.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PESHAWAR During a recent session of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, opposition leader and leader of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Dr Ibadullah highlighted the positive role played by lawmakers in the Khyber Jirga and stressed that restoring law and order should be the government\u2019s top priority.
