Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Chairman Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao has questioned the federal government\u2019s rush to amend the constitution in order to establish a constitutional court in the country.
\nHe urged the federal government amendments should be thoroughly discussed in Parliament before being approved.
\nSherpao expressed his concerns about the current approach taken by the federal government towards the constitutional amendments, stating that the worries of political parties should be addressed.
\nHe shared these thoughts while speaking at a condolence event held in memory of the late party leader, Mohammad Jameel Murghaz Advocate, in Marghaz, Swabi.
\nPraising the late party leader, Aftab Sherpao described Jameel Marghz as a dedicated and honest politician who was a valuable asset to QWP. Jameel Marghz had been a staunch advocate for democracy and the rule of law in the country.
\nCommenting on the political situation in the country, Aftab Sherpao criticized what he perceived as a deliberate plan to create political instability.
\nHe accused the establishment of trying to manipulate political forces, including the government and the opposition, for their own benefit.
\nSherpao also accused PTI leaders of using provincial resources for their own political gain and criticized the lack of concern shown by the PTI government for the welfare and development of the province.
\nSherpao labeled the recent absence of the Chief Minister as a mere theatrical performance with no real purpose other than wasting time.
\nHe also condemned the federal government\u2019s strategy to suppress PTI protests, suggesting that political issues should be resolved through political means. Sherpao called for a review of agreements with Independent Power Producers (IPPs), pointing out that such agreements, where large sums of money are paid to inactive power plants in the form of Capacity Charges, are uncommon globally.
\nHe demanded that those responsible for these contracts be identified and held accountable for their actions, which he believes have harmed the country and its people.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
