The European Union has also imposed sanctions on 19 Chinese companies, including several in Hong Kong.<br \/>\n\u201cKuleba also called on the Hong Kong Administration to take measures to prevent Russia and Russian companies from using Hong Kong to circumvent the restrictive measures imposed for Russia\u2019s aggression against Ukraine,\u201d his ministry said.<br \/>\n\u201cThese restrictive measures are necessary to weaken Russia\u2019s capacity to wage war and kill people in Ukraine,\u201d he said, according to the statement.<br \/>\n\u201cRussia\u2019s machinations should not spoil Hong Kong\u2019s reputation as a highly developed liberal economy based on unwavering respect for the rule of law.\u201d<br \/>\nKuleba is on the final day of his first visit to China, a close ally of Russia, since the beginning of the war.<br \/>\nKuleba said during talks with his Chinese counterpart that Kyiv was prepared to negotiate with Russia when it shows itself willing to hold talks \u201cin good faith.\u201d<br \/>\nChina is a close political and economic ally of Russia and NATO members have branded Beijing a \u201cdecisive enabler\u201d of the war.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>HONG KONG Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba warned in Hong Kong on Thursday of Russia using the city to bypass sanctions levied by the West over its invasion of Ukraine.
