Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Monday visited the head office of Pakistan State Oil (PSO) in Karachi and stressed the need to expand PSO\u2019s presence further in KP by identifying new sites.
\nDuring a meeting with PSO\u2019s Managing Director, Syed Muhammad Talha, they discussed various matters including foreign investment in oil refineries and other bilateral issues.
\nDuring the meeting, PSO\u2019s MD briefed Governor Faisal Karim Kundi in detail about the agency\u2019s operations.
\nThey also exchanged views on the transportation of petroleum products, ports-related logistics, and other pertinent topics.
\nGovernor Faisal Kundi highlighted the expected increase in demand for petroleum products post-CPEC completion and emphasized the need for proactive planning to meet future demands.
\nHe noted that a significant number of individuals involved in the oil transport business have connections to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, underscoring the region\u2019s importance in the sector.
\nEfforts to address existing hurdles in foreign investment in oil refineries were also discussed, with a commitment to resolving these obstacles.
\nHighlighting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa\u2019s substantial market for PSO, Managing Director Syed Muhammad Talha reaffirmed PSO\u2019s commitment to expanding operations in the region.
