\nIsrael will face a catastrophic war if its forces invade Lebanon, Iran has said, after intensified cross-border fire between the IDF and and the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah.
\nPrime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said earlier this month that Israel was \u201cprepared for a very intense operation\u201d along the border with Lebanon.
\nIn a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, Iran\u2019s mission to the UN labeled Israel\u2019s apparent preparations as \u201cpsychological warfare\u201d and \u201cpropaganda\u201d but cautioned that \u201can obliterating war will ensue\u201d if Israel carries out a full-blown attack on Lebanese territory.
\n\u201cAll options, including the full involvement of all resistance fronts, are on the table,\u201d the Iranian mission said. It stated previously that Hezbollah \u201chas the capability to defend itself and Lebanon\u201d and would defeat the Israel Defense Forces.
\nOn Saturday morning, Israel hit several sites in southern Lebanon.
\n\u201cIn the past few hours, warplanes attacked several Hezbollah targets, including a military site for the organization in the Zabqin area, two operational infrastructure sites in the Khiam area, and a Hezbollah building in the al-Adissa area,\u201d the IDF said.
\nIsraeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant warned earlier this week that while Israel is not seeking a war with its neighbor, it is \u201cpreparing for every scenario\u201d and could take \u201cLebanon back to the Stone Age.\u201d Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah responded by saying a potential war would have \u201cno restraint and no rules and no ceilings.\u201d
