{"id":65544,"date":"2024-05-31T08:14:21","date_gmt":"2024-05-31T03:14:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nabanews.pk\/en\/?p=65544"},"modified":"2024-05-31T08:14:21","modified_gmt":"2024-05-31T03:14:21","slug":"paksat-mm-1-launched-into-space","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nabanews.pk\/en\/paksat-mm-1-launched-into-space\/","title":{"rendered":"PAKSAT MM-1 launched into space"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Satellite to deploy at an altitude of 36,000 km above the Earth<br \/>\nKARACHI<br \/>\nPakistan launched on Thursday its second communication satellite today, PAKSAT MM-1, to further improve the country\u2019s digital communication infrastructure.<br \/>\nThe satellite was sent into orbit from China\u2019s Xichang Satellite Launch Center (XSLC) and will deploy at an altitude of 36,000 km above the Earth.<br \/>\nThe five-ton satellite is equipped with the latest communication equipment. \u201cThe satellite is expected to contribute to the establishment of a sophisticated communication network and help meet the growing demands of the telecom sector,\u201d Suparco said.<br \/>\nThe satellite is expected to take three to four days to stabilise in its designated orbit around the Earth, a Suparco official added.<br \/>\n\u201cIts advanced capabilities will address the increasing demand for high-speed internet and seamless connectivity. This high-power multi-mission satellite will provide communication services in C, Ku, Ka Bands and SBAS services in L Band.\u201d<br \/>\nPrime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the nation on the successful launch of the country\u2019s second communication satellite.<br \/>\n\u201cI, along with the entire nation, am proud of our scientists achievement,\u201d said the premier.<br \/>\n\u201cIt will prove to be a stepping stone in the transformation of the country into digital Pakistan. It will provide various communication services like broadband internet, TV broadcasting, mobile bank hauling, and VSAT connectivity,\u201d added the spokesperson.<br \/>\nThe launch follows the historic ICUBE-Q launch on May 3 on board China\u2019s Chang\u2019E6 mission.<br \/>\nICube-Qamar achieved lunar orbit at 1:14 pm Pakistan time on May 9.
