Macron caused controversy in February by saying he could not rule out the deployment of ground troops in Ukraine in the future. The French leader warned that if Russia wins in Ukraine then Europe\u2019s credibility will be reduced to zero.<br \/>\n\u201cIt is characteristic that Macron himself explains this rhetoric with the desire to create some kind of \u2018strategic uncertainty\u2019 for Russia,\u201d Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told reporters.<br \/>\n\u201cWe have to disappoint him \u2014 for us the situation looks more than certain,\u201d Zakharova said.<br \/>\n\u201cIf the French appear in the conflict zone, they will inevitably become targets for the Russian armed forces.
