Peshawar High Court (PHC) has sought reply in connection with closure of Social Media Platform X in the country. The petition regarding closure of X twitter came up for hearing in PHC. Justice Ejaz Anwar and Justice Waqar Ahmad heard the petition regarding closure of X twitter Thursday.
\nPHC sought reply from PTA, government and relevant institutions. PHC remarked during the hearing of the case other social media platforms are open and as to why only twitter has been closed. Why the X was closed. Interior ministry did not tell the reason.
\nTherefore seeking reply from interior ministry and PT A is must. It should be known as to why X twitter was closed.
\nIn Sindh High Court (SHC) the case related to closure of social media app X came up for hearing.
\nThe SHC while issuing contempt of court notice to chairman PTA in the case related to closure of social media app X said if any reasonable justification regarding the closure of twitter is not presented before the court then contempt of court proceedings will be initiated against Chairman PTA.
\nIt is being told SHC has issued written order on contempt of court plea.
\nSHC has given observation PTA did not present reasonable justification before court regarding closure of X. Chairman PTA is exposing himself for contempt of court proceedings.
\nIt has been learnt that SHC has extended the stay order regarding the restoration of X besides issuing orders to send court\u2019s orders to federal government, PTA and others .
\nIt has been said in the court\u2019s decision that federal government and PTA have sought time to file reply.
