{"id":59866,"date":"2024-01-22T17:50:13","date_gmt":"2024-01-22T12:50:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nabanews.pk\/en\/?p=59866"},"modified":"2024-01-22T17:59:12","modified_gmt":"2024-01-22T12:59:12","slug":"bilawal-wants-pti-supporters-to-vote-for-ppp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nabanews.pk\/en\/bilawal-wants-pti-supporters-to-vote-for-ppp\/","title":{"rendered":"Bilawal wants PTI supporters to vote for PPP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cOnce and for all, let\u2019s bury revenge politics,\u201d PPP chief Bilawal tells PTI supporters ahead of Feb 8 polls<br \/>\nIslamabad : Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari Sunday called on the supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to vote for his party as the February 8 elections would see a battle between two parties \u2014 \u201cthe lion and the arrow\u201d.<br \/>\nWhile the PTI has lost its electoral \u2018bat\u2019 symbol, the PPP has retained its \u2018arrow\u2019 symbol, and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has also secured its decades-old \u2018lion\u2019 electoral sign.<br \/>\n\u201cI am speaking to the PTI supporters: We kept on telling Khan sahib to do politics; abusing rivals and putting them and their sisters in jail is not politics,\u201d Bilawal said while addressing a party power show in Lahore.<br \/>\nBilawal said he understands the pain that PTI workers are going through and blamed Nawaz Sharif\u2019s PML-N for the former ruling party\u2019s setbacks. \u201cI respect political workers [\u2026] I\u2019ve been through this and I do not want anyone to go through such testing times.\u201d<br \/>\nHundreds of PTI workers \u2014 allegedly involved in attacking military installations \u2014 have been arrested since May 9, 2023, the day when former prime minister Imran Khan was arrested, which triggered country-wide protests.<br \/>\n\u201cI appeal to you [PTI supporters], in the battle between \u2018lion and arrow\u2019, support me. I will bury revenge politics,\u201d Bilawal vowed, reminding people that when his party\u2019s prime ministers took office, they released \u201cpolitical prisoners\u201d.<br \/>\nBilawal stressed the need to end the old ways of politics and bring all forces together, which would in return help to steer the country out of politics.<br \/>\nHe also promised to outperform \u201cShowbaz\u201d and \u201cWasim Akram plus\u201d \u2014 the terms used by PTI founder Imran Khan to mock Shehbaz Sharif and to praise Punjab chief minister Usman Buzdar \u2014 after being elected in the February 8 general elections.<br \/>\n\u201cIs it Lahore\u2019s fate to elect the same faces again and again? I am here to win your hearts, fight for you and struggle for you. We cannot hand over Pakistan to these old politicians,\u201d Bilawal said.<br \/>\nThe former foreign minister said that Lahore had elected the late Benazir Bhutto as prime minister. \u201cPunjab has also suffered the consequences of PPP\u2019s removal through a conspiracy. I will continue my struggle until getting victorious,\u201d he added. The politico said that PPP has come up with a concrete 10-point economic plan to provide relief to the masses.
