Pakistan\u2019s delegation representing the Institute of Space Technology (IST) has secured three prestigious distinctions at the International Space Games (ISG) 2026, held in Moscow, Russia, showcasing the country\u2019s growing capabilities in space science, engineering and mission operations.
\nAt the closing and awards ceremony, Team Pakistan received the awards for \u2018Best Mission Control Centre (MCC) Team\u2019, \u2018Best Flight Engineer\u2019 and \u2018Outstanding Overall Coordination\u2019, marking a significant achievement for the country\u2019s young space professionals and students.
\nThe International Space Games brought together participants from eight countries to compete in a simulated space-mission environment, featuring intensive 48-hour habitat expeditions. The teams undertook engineering assignments, mission-control operations, scientific activities and simulated emergency scenarios to test their technical expertise, decision-making abilities and teamwork.
\nPakistan was represented by an 11-member delegation comprising habitat crew members, mission-control personnel, consulting experts and professional jury members.
\nThe habitat crew included Ayesha Jamil, Fakhar Arooj, Alishba Tanveer, Maheera Fatima and Hafiz Muhammad Abdullah, while Syeda Maryam Murtaza and Humail Amir Nawaz represented the Mission Control Centre.
\nMohammad Daniyal Hasnain and Talha Zubair served as consulting experts, while Dr. Rehan Mahmood and Engr. Maheen Zulfiqar participated as professional jury members.
\nDr. Rehan Mahmood, Director of the Space Systems and Technology Research Lab (SSTRL) at IST, served as the National Coordinator and Head of the Pakistan delegation.
\nThe awards reflected the technical excellence, dedication, teamwork and coordination demonstrated by the Pakistani delegation throughout the competition.
\nThe delegation\u2019s participation followed months of preparation and technical training, culminating in the challenging habitat expedition and the international awards ceremony.
\nThe Institute of Space Technology congratulated the award recipients and all members of Team Pakistan on their achievements and appreciated the organisers, host institutions and international partners for making the event possible.
