The Islamabad district administration has launched the sixth anti-polio campaign of 2026, aiming to administer polio drops to 447,614 children across the federal capital from November 2 to 5.
\nDeputy Commissioner Islamabad inaugurated the four-day campaign at Golra Railway Station by administering polio drops to children travelling by train.
\nAdditional Deputy Commissioner Headquarters briefed the participants on the arrangements and preparations for the campaign.
\nThe district administration said all preparations for the four-day drive had been completed. Polio teams will visit households, educational institutions and hospitals to ensure that children receive the required vaccine doses.
\nSpecial camps will also be established at public places to facilitate parents and ensure vaccination coverage among children.
\nUnder the campaign, a total of 447,614 children across Islamabad will be administered polio drops during the four-day drive.
\nThe district administration has urged citizens to cooperate with polio workers and ensure that their children receive the vaccine.
\nIt also appealed to parents to facilitate vaccination teams during their visits to homes and other locations.
