\nThe All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter has strongly condemned the demolition of structures linked to the family of Shaheed Mohammad Afzal Guru in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and the rejection of bail for senior Hurriyat leader Shabir Ahmad Shah.
\nAccording to the APHC-AJK, authorities demolished structures, including a dairy unit, linked to Afzal Guru\u2019s family near Stadium Colony in Baramulla under the pretext of an anti-encroachment drive.
\nThe structures were reportedly owned by Afzal Guru\u2019s wife and relatives. Afzal Guru was hanged at Tihar Jail in New Delhi on February 9, 2013.
\nAPHC-AJK Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi, while presiding over a meeting in Islamabad, said the action against Afzal Guru\u2019s family was aimed at creating fear and panic among the families of Kashmiri martyrs and political prisoners.
\nHe said Afzal Guru\u2019s family had legal inheritance rights to the property following his death and urged the United Nations, UN Human Rights Council, Organization of Islamic Cooperation and international human rights organizations to take notice of the matter.
\nThe meeting also condemned the rejection of bail for 74-year-old Hurriyat leader Shabir Ahmad Shah, who has remained imprisoned in Indian jails for years.
\nThe APHC-AJK leaders said Shah\u2019s deteriorating health required proper medical care and called for protection of the rights of Kashmiri political leaders and activists detained in Indian jails.
\nGhulam Muhammad Safi urged international human rights organizations to take practical steps to ensure the protection of the rights and welfare of Kashmiri political prisoners.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
