PESHAWAR
\nGovernor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday discussed the province\u2019s law and order situation, political developments and issues related to the ongoing long march during a meeting at the Governor House.
\nThe two leaders exchanged views on the deteriorating security situation in the province, the prevailing political environment and various aspects of the situation arising from the long march.
\nThe meeting expressed concern over the possibility that terrorists could receive facilitation to cross security checkpoints during the long march. It was also observed that the provincial government\u2019s attitude and role regarding counter-terrorism operations during the negotiation process were against the interests of the people and the province.
\nThe participants said that despite consensus on resolving issues, the provincial government demonstrated rigidity, irresponsibility and repeated its policy reversal.
\nThe meeting also termed the alleged use of helicopters and other government resources by the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and provincial ministers during the long march as a violation of the Islamabad High Court\u2019s decisions.
\nThe two sides also discussed other matters of mutual interest and held consultations on various issues.
\nIt was agreed that if the President of Pakistan and the Prime Minister considered it necessary to impose Governor\u2019s Rule or an Emergency to protect the province from terrorism and destruction, the Governor House would perform its constitutional role accordingly.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
