{"id":103831,"date":"2026-10-03T09:55:08","date_gmt":"2026-10-03T04:55:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nabanews.pk\/en\/?p=103831"},"modified":"2026-10-03T09:55:08","modified_gmt":"2026-10-03T04:55:08","slug":"may-9-like-situation-to-be-dealt-with-decisive-force-warns-armys-top-brass","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nabanews.pk\/en\/may-9-like-situation-to-be-dealt-with-decisive-force-warns-armys-top-brass\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018May 9-like situation\u2019 to be dealt with decisive force, warns army\u2019s top brass"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>RAWALPINDI<br \/>\nThe army\u2019s top brass has warned that attempts to create a May 9-like situation or cause agitation will be met with \u201cdecisive force\u201d and the rule of law, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.<br \/>\nThe warning came during the 277th Corps Commanders\u2019 Conference at General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi, chaired by Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Friday.<br \/>\nAccording to a statement from the ISPR, the forum reviewed the prevailing security environment and resolved that any attempt to create agitation or a \u201cMay 9-like\u201d situation on any pretext would be dealt with decisively under the rule of law, without hesitation or discrimination.<br \/>\nTerrorism emanating from Afghan soil<br \/>\nTurning to the regional security situation, the forum reaffirmed Pakistan\u2019s right to self-defence and targeted action against terrorism emanating from Afghanistan.<br \/>\nIt stated that the Taliban leadership facilitating terrorism on behalf of India bears responsibility for its consequences.<br \/>\nDiscussing Kashmir, the forum reiterated Pakistan\u2019s principled position on Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), supporting a resolution of the dispute in accordance with relevant UN Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.<br \/>\nIn his concluding remarks, the CDF Munir hailed commanders for their operational preparedness and directed them to further strengthen intelligence-based operations, enhance combat capabilities through modern technology, training and multi-domain integration.<br \/>\nHe expressed confidence that the armed forces remain fully prepared to safeguard Pakistan\u2019s sovereignty, territorial integrity and national security.<br \/>\nThe conference also offered Fateha for the martyrs of the Armed Forces, law enforcement agencies and civil society.<br \/>\nSecurity, sanctity of Haramain Sharifain<br \/>\nOn regional and international affairs, the forum welcomed the Makkah Defence Alliance signing between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye.<br \/>\nThe army top brass also condemned Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia. It expressed solidarity with the Kingdom and reaffirmed Pakistan\u2019s commitment to the security and sanctity of the Haramain Sharifain.<br \/>\nThe statement followed the heightened tensions between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis following fresh cross-border attacks.<br \/>\nThe Houthis have carried out repeated missile and drone attacks against Saudi Arabia since announcing a naval blockade on the Kingdom in July.
