Muhammad Mahmood, accompanied by Director General, Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA), Captain (Retd.) Zafar Iqbal, paid a detailed visit to the Sky Garden Housing Project. FGEHA\u2019s Joint Venture Partner, Mr. Chaudhry Ismail, was also present on the occasion. Senior officers of the Housing Authority warmly received the distinguished guests and briefed them in detail about the ongoing development activities, infrastructure, allotment status and construction progress of the project.<br \/>\nDuring the visit, Secretary Housing &#038; Works Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Mahmood inspected various parts of the project and directed that unnecessary cutting should be completely avoided during development works. He emphasized that the principles of *Cut &#038; Fill* should be followed to preserve the natural terrain and beauty of the valley. He further directed that the natural profile and scenic beauty of the hilly area must be preserved at all costs during leveling and land preparation. Where cutting has already been completed, further unnecessary cutting should be avoided in the subsequent stages so that the natural environment is not adversely affected. He also directed that appropriate arrangements for *horticulture and landscaping* be ensured throughout the project.<br \/>\nThe Secretary Housing &#038; Works further emphasized that cost-effectiveness should be given due importance during the completion of the project. He directed that available resources be utilized prudently to develop infrastructure that is sustainable, aesthetically pleasing and aligned with the residential requirements of the allottees.<br \/>\nThe Secretary specifically directed that the *pine trees and other natural vegetation* within the project should be preserved to the maximum possible extent, and that development planning should be carried out in a manner that minimizes damage to the natural environment and green areas. He further directed that *stone pitching* be provided at suitable locations to prevent soil erosion and stabilize slopes.<br \/>\nHe also directed that a comprehensive *Water Channelization Plan* be prepared while taking into account rainwater and natural water-flow routes, so that natural watercourses are not obstructed and effective drainage of rainwater is ensured. He further directed that all necessary water-management measures be incorporated and that *rainwater flows* be managed according to natural pathways to minimize the risks of water accumulation, soil erosion and damage to infrastructure during rainfall.<br \/>\nThe Secretary Housing &#038; Works directed that the *drainage and sewerage systems* of the project be accorded special priority and that no drainage or sewerage-related issues arise at any stage of construction and development. He emphasized that possession should not be handed over merely for the sake of completing the process; rather, the provision of all basic facilities must also be ensured so that allottees are provided with complete and quality residential facilities.<br \/>\nHe further directed that the ongoing development works at the project be accelerated and all related matters be finalized within the stipulated timelines. He stated that he would revisit the Sky Garden Housing Project after two weeks to review the progress of development works and implementation of the directions issued during the visit.<br \/>\nDuring the briefing, it was informed that the *Sky Garden Housing Project has been planned by Asian Consultants, while development works on various packages of the project are progressing rapidly. Development works in **Blocks A, B and D of Package-I* have entered the final stages of completion and finishing. It was decided that *possession of the said three blocks will be handed over to the allottees by December 31, 2026*. Necessary measures are being taken to complete the relevant development works within the stipulated timeframe and ensure the provision of all basic facilities.<br \/>\nThe officials informed that the matter relating to *SNGPL* has been taken up with the Chief Engineer, and the relevant NOC is expected to be obtained shortly.<br \/>\nThe design for SNGPL has already been finalized, while the *Layout Plan* has also been prepared. Similarly, the *IESCO Demand Note* has already been paid.<br \/>\nThe briefing further revealed that out of the *4,255 plots* in the Sky Garden Housing Project, *2,470 plots have been allotted*. The process of finalizing various technical and administrative matters of the project is underway, and several pending matters are expected to be finalized shortly, paving the way towards the practical completion and implementation phase of the project.<br \/>\nOn the occasion, Director General FGEHA Captain (Retd.) Zafar Iqbal assured that the Housing Authority would provide all possible *financial, technical and administrative support* for the timely and quality completion of the project. He directed the concerned officers to ensure that all project works are completed expeditiously through effective coordination, integrated planning and adherence to the prescribed standards.<br \/>\nCaptain (Retd.) Zafar Iqbal said that the objective of FGEHA is not merely to hand over possession of plots, but to provide allottees with a *safe, beautiful, sustainable and well-serviced residential environment* equipped with basic amenities. He emphasized that no compromise would be made on the quality of development works, preservation of natural beauty, infrastructure and provision of basic facilities.<br \/>\nSecretary Housing &#038; Works expressed satisfaction over the overall progress of the project and directed the concerned officers to proceed with the Sky Garden Housing Project in accordance with the set targets, while ensuring that *quality, cost-effectiveness and environmentally responsible planning* are maintained alongside the pace of development.<br \/>\nAt the conclusion of the visit, the Secretary Housing &#038; Works and Director General FGEHA directed all concerned officers to finalize the remaining matters at the earliest through close coordination and to further accelerate the ongoing development works.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Islamabad Secretary Housing &#038; Works, Captain (Retd.)
