The two-lane structure is supported by 665 piles.<br \/>\nAccording to the Chief Minister\u2019s Secretariat, the project was undertaken primarily to address traffic congestion at Hayatabad Toll Plaza and on adjoining roads and ensure smoother vehicular movement.<br \/>\nThe underpass is expected to reduce traffic interruptions and delays, shorten commuters\u2019 travel time and improve traffic management and mobility in Hayatabad and surrounding areas.<br \/>\nMembers of the provincial cabinet, including Meena Khan Afridi, Shafi Jan, Mian Umar Kakakhel and Adil Iqbal, attended the inauguration.<br \/>\nMembers of the National Assembly Junaid Akbar and Asif Khan, other parliamentarians from Peshawar, party leaders and a large number of citizens were also present.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mohammad Sohail Afridi on Wednesday inaugurated the second a Rs1.6 billion underpass at Hayatabad Toll Plaza, a project the provincial government says will help ease traffic congestion and improve connectivity between Detour Road on the Bara side and Ring Road.
