\nFederal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja on Thursday inaugurated Huawei\u2019s first national-level Spare Parts Repair Center in Pakistan, aimed at enhancing local repair capacity, reducing dependence on overseas services and strengthening the country\u2019s telecom infrastructure.
\nHuawei Pakistan CEO Ethan Sun was also present at the inauguration.
\nSpeaking on the occasion, the minister said the vision of a Digital Nation Pakistan was based on developing a skilled and future-ready workforce capable of competing and creating value in global markets.
\nShe said Pakistan was moving from being a consumer of technology towards becoming a creator, builder and exporter of digital solutions through the skills and innovation of its people.
\nMs Khawaja said the establishment of the repair centre was an important step towards strengthening the country\u2019s digital and telecom ecosystem while creating greater local technical capacity and expertise.
\nShe appreciated Huawei\u2019s investment in Pakistan and its focus on knowledge transfer and capacity building, saying such partnerships would contribute to the resilience of telecom infrastructure and help build a more capable and digitally connected Pakistan.
\nEthan Sun said Huawei was proud to partner with Pakistan in developing sustainable technical expertise. He said the centre reflected the company\u2019s vision of translating global technology into local capability, enabling faster services and stronger telecom networks.
\nThe centre will provide repair, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance services for Huawei telecom equipment deployed across Pakistan. Local diagnosis and repair are expected to reduce turnaround times, improve network resilience and lower repair-related costs.
\nThe facility has 16 specialised repair desks and supports more than 180 equipment item codes covering wireless, microwave, digital power and access-network technologies. It is equipped with Huawei\u2019s diagnostic platforms for fault detection and load testing.
\nAccording to Huawei, the centre has more than 10 local hardware specialists, each with over 12 years of Huawei maintenance experience, who have also received expert-level training from the company\u2019s headquarters in China.
\nThe facility has the capacity to process more than 10,000 modules annually and return over 6,000 repaired components to service each year, with an average success rate of around 60 per cent.
\nThe local repair capability is also expected to enable quicker response during national emergencies and natural disasters when maintaining telecom network continuity becomes particularly critical.
\nThe centre, Huawei said, would help reduce Pakistan\u2019s dependence on overseas repair services while supporting faster maintenance and greater resilience of the country\u2019s telecom infrastructure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
