{"id":103128,"date":"2026-09-18T15:21:07","date_gmt":"2026-09-18T10:21:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nabanews.pk\/en\/?p=103128"},"modified":"2026-09-18T15:21:07","modified_gmt":"2026-09-18T10:21:07","slug":"mobile-phone-manufacturing-unit-inaugurated-at-rashakai-sez","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nabanews.pk\/en\/mobile-phone-manufacturing-unit-inaugurated-at-rashakai-sez\/","title":{"rendered":"Mobile phone manufacturing unit inaugurated at Rashakai SEZ"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister\u2019s Adviser on Industries and Commerce Humayun Khan on Thursday inaugurated a mobile phone manufacturing unit of Choguri I-Tech Pvt Ltd, Faywa Mobile brand, at Rashakai Special Economic Zone (SEZ), said a handout.<br \/>\nThe company is currently employing up to 200 people and plans to expand its workforce to 2,000.<br \/>\nAccording to the statement, the unit has been established on two acres with a stated investment of Rs750 million.<br \/>\nDuring his visit to the SEZ, the adviser was briefed on the zone\u2019s development, industrial activity, investment and employment. He was accompanied by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KPEZDMC) Chief Executive Officer Shaharyar Gul.<br \/>\nMember of the National Assembly Ali Muhammad Khan, KP Assembly members Zar Alam Khan, Abdul Salam Afridi and Iftikhar Mashwani, KPEZDMC Board member Adil Nawaz, senior government officials and representatives of the business community attended the ceremony.<br \/>\nThe CM aide on industries also inspected upcoming industrial units before visiting the Choguri I-Tech facility, where the company\u2019s management briefed him on its investment, production plans, employment and proposed expansion.<br \/>\nThe company plans to gradually diversify its product range to include laptops, notebooks, robotics, network equipment and satellite-related technology, according to its profile.<br \/>\nSpeaking at the inauguration, Mr Khan said the establishment of manufacturing units and the operationalisation of industries at Rashakai SEZ would contribute to industrial activity and employment in the province.<br \/>\nHe said local mobile phone manufacturing could help develop technical skills, facilitate technology transfer, reduce dependence on imported products and create potential for future exports.<br \/>\nThe adviser said the provincial government was committed to facilitating investors and supporting industrial production.<br \/>\nAccording to officials, 22 enterprises are currently in progress at Rashakai SEZ, involving an estimated investment of around Rs68 billion and expected employment of nearly 3,000 people. Employment is expected to increase as more enterprises become operational.<br \/>\nChoguri I-Tech Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Khan appreciated the facilitation provided by KPEZDMC and said the company planned to expand its operations and create more employment opportunities.<br \/>\nKPEZDMC CEO Shaharyar Gul said the company would continue to facilitate investors through coordination with relevant government departments and work to address issues faced by enterprises in the economic zones.<br \/>\nRashakai SEZ is one of the major industrial projects being developed under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
