{"id":103100,"date":"2026-09-18T15:15:27","date_gmt":"2026-09-18T10:15:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nabanews.pk\/en\/?p=103100"},"modified":"2026-09-18T15:15:27","modified_gmt":"2026-09-18T10:15:27","slug":"india-says-no-neutral-venue-for-pakistan-clash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nabanews.pk\/en\/india-says-no-neutral-venue-for-pakistan-clash\/","title":{"rendered":"India says \u2018no neutral venue\u2019 for Pakistan clash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Asian Champions Trophy<br \/>\n New Delhi<br \/>\nHockey India has said the venue for the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy will not be changed amid uncertainty over Pakistan\u2019s participation in the tournament in India.<br \/>\nHockey India secretary Bhola Nath Singh said Pakistan would have to travel to India if it wanted to participate in the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy, adding that there would be no change to the tournament venue, according to Indian media reports.<br \/>\nThe PHF had formally approached the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) seeking either the relocation of the entire tournament outside India or the shifting of Pakistan\u2019s matches to neutral venues, citing the current sensitive bilateral situation and security concerns.<br \/>\nHockey India secretary general and AHF vice-president Bhola Nath Singh said the request would not be entertained and that Pakistan would have to travel to India if it wished to participate in the tournament.<br \/>\n\u201cThere will be no change in venue. If Pakistan wants to play in the Asian Champions Trophy, it will have to come to India,\u201d Singh said, according to Indian media reports.<br \/>\nSingh also said Bangladesh and Oman were among the reserve teams for the event and could be considered as replacements if Pakistan withdrew from the tournament.<br \/>\nThe Men\u2019s Asian Champions Trophy is scheduled to take place from October 27 to November 5 in Jalandhar and Mohali, with India, Pakistan, China, Japan, Malaysia and South Korea set to participate. Jalandhar is scheduled to host the league-stage matches, while the semi-finals and final are due to be played in Mohali.<br \/>\nPakistan and India are scheduled to face each other in Jalandhar on November 1. The PHF, however, has maintained that Pakistan remains committed to participating in the continental tournament.<br \/>\nInterim PHF president Mohyuddin Ahmed Wani said the federation\u2019s request was aimed at ensuring a safe, dignified and conducive environment for the national players and officials.<br \/>\nWani also reiterated Pakistan\u2019s willingness to compete against India and all other International Hockey Federation (FIH) member nations, while stressing the federation\u2019s position that sport should remain separate from politics.<br \/>\nThe latest development has left Pakistan\u2019s participation in the tournament uncertain, with the PHF\u2019s request for a neutral venue now rejected by Hockey India.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Asian Champions Trophy New Delhi Hockey India has said the venue for the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy will not be changed amid uncertainty over Pakistan\u2019s participation in the tournament in India.
