{"id":102700,"date":"2026-09-08T10:29:44","date_gmt":"2026-09-08T05:29:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nabanews.pk\/en\/?p=102700"},"modified":"2026-09-08T10:29:44","modified_gmt":"2026-09-08T05:29:44","slug":"shafi-jan-says-sindh-rallies-show-support-for-imran","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nabanews.pk\/en\/shafi-jan-says-sindh-rallies-show-support-for-imran\/","title":{"rendered":"Shafi Jan says Sindh rallies show support for Imran"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Shafi Jan on Monday described Chief Minister Sohail Afridi\u2019s five-day visit to Sindh as part of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) \u201cStreet Movement\u201d as successful, claiming that large crowds from Ghotki to Karachi had demonstrated continued support for Imran Khan.<br \/>\nIn a statement, Mr Jan thanked PTI office-bearers, workers and supporters in Sindh for what he called their \u201coverwhelming participation\u201d in the campaign.<br \/>\nHe said the response showed that people were prepared to continue their struggle for constitutional supremacy, the rule of law, Mr Khan\u2019s release and what he described as genuine democracy.<br \/>\nThe minister also highlighted a lawyers\u2019 convention held by Chief Minister Afridi at the Sindh High Court Bar, calling it an important development in the PTI\u2019s campaign for constitutional and legal supremacy.<br \/>\nHe said the legal fraternity had historically played a key role in defending constitutional and democratic principles.<br \/>\nMr Jan also criticised the federal government over its treatment of Imran Khan, alleging that court orders relating to the PTI founder had been violated and that the issue of his health had been politicised. He further alleged that Mr Khan had been denied adequate medical facilities.<br \/>\nThe minister said the federal government could face contempt of court proceedings over the matter.<br \/>\nReferring to the chief minister\u2019s convoy, Mr Jan alleged that barriers had been erected in Karachi and Hyderabad to prevent its movement. He claimed that Mr Afridi had been forced to use unpaved routes at night because of the restrictions.<br \/>\nSuch measures, he said, would neither weaken the PTI\u2019s resolve nor intimidate its workers.<br \/>\nMr Jan also referred to the turnout at Karachi Toll Plaza during Mr Afridi\u2019s visit, describing it as evidence of public support for Imran Khan and his political narrative.<br \/>\nHe criticised what he called the \u201cForm-47 rulers\u201d and said the people remained Mr Khan\u2019s principal source of political strength.
