\nThe Acting President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Chairman, Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, today inaugurated the Founders\u2019 Wall at ISE (Islamabad Stock Exchange) Towers Limited, Islamabad.
\nThe Founders\u2019 Wall has been established to preserve and honour the legacy of the founders and key contributors to the Islamabad Stock Exchange\u2019s historic journey now existing as ISE REIT Management Company and ISE Towers Limited.
\nThe Acting President was received by Mr. Haroon Ihsan Piracha, Chairman ISE REIT Management Company along with other Board Members.
\nFollowing the inauguration, the Acting President interacted with the Board Members.
\nWelcoming the Acting President, Mr. Haroon Ihsan Piracha thanked him for sparing his valuable time to grace the occasion and recalled his association with the institution.
\nHe noted that the licence for the establishment of the Islamabad Stock Exchange was granted during the first government of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed. He also recalled that the building of ISE Towers was inaugurated by Honorable Guest during his tenure as Prime Minister of Pakistan, thus making his presence at the inauguration of the Founders\u2019 Wall a particularly meaningful occasion for the institution.
\nThe Chairman highly appreciated the Acting President\u2019s continued support and interest in the development of Pakistan\u2019s capital market.
\nMs. Marium, Chairperson, ISE Towers Limited, expressed her gratitude to the Acting President for gracing the occasion and inaugurating the Founders\u2019 Wall.
\nMr. Zahid Latif Khan, Director and former Chairman, briefed the gathering on the history and evolution of the Company, tracing its journey from its origins as the Islamabad Stock Exchange (ISE) to its present role in Pakistan\u2019s capital market.
\nHe highlighted the Company\u2019s significant contribution to the development and strengthening of the country\u2019s capital market over the years. He also expressed his appreciation for the continued support and patronage extended towards the Company and its initiatives for further growth and development.
\nIn his brief remarks, the Acting President recalled the history of the institution as the Islamabad Stock Exchange (ISE) and appreciated its contribution to the development of Pakistan\u2019s capital market.
\nHe acknowledged the efforts of those associated with the establishment of ISE and specifically mentioned Mr. Ihsan-ul-Haq Piracha, former Finance Minister, for his role in obtaining the licence for the Islamabad Stock Exchange.
\nThe Acting President appreciated the institution\u2019s journey and expressed hope that it would continue to carry its legacy and contribute to the development of Pakistan\u2019s capital market and the country\u2019s future economic growth.
\nAt the conclusion of the ceremony, the Board of Directors expressed their gratitude to the Acting President for gracing the occasion, inaugurating the Founders\u2019 Wall, and sharing his valuable reflections on the institution\u2019s history.
