\nKhyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi arrived in Sindh on Thirsday for a five-day visit to lead the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf\u2019s \u201cStreet Movement\u201d as part of preparations for the party\u2019s planned long march to Islamabad on September 27.
\nAccording to a handout issued by the Chief Minister\u2019s Press Office, Mr Afridi was received by PTI\u2019s provincial and central leadership and cabinet members on arrival. He is scheduled to hold meetings with local political leadership during the visit.
\nAddressing workers at Kamo Shaheed on the Sindh-Punjab border, the chief minister thanked the people of Sindh for what he called a \u201chistoric and enthusiastic\u201d welcome. He said the turnout this time had surpassed previous receptions.
\nMr Afridi asked the gathering whether they would march toward D-Chowk in Islamabad or mobilise in Karachi. He alleged that despite decades of rule in Sindh, the ruling party had failed to deliver development and the province\u2019s due rights. \u201cImran Khan will ensure that the people of Sindh receive their rightful share,\u201d he said, adding that PTI stood firmly with the people of the province.
\nAt Mureed Shakh, the chief minister urged workers to sustain their enthusiasm and take the message to every part of the country. \u201cI and my leaders will be waiting for you on that day and I myself will lead you in this struggle,\u201d he said, referring to the September 27 march.
\nLater at Kashmore Chowk, he addressed a large gathering and said the response showed that Imran Khan \u201ccontinued to command a place in their hearts.\u201d He asked workers if they would come out with the same resolve on September 27 and stressed that people should participate \u201cwithout fear.\u201d
\nThe chief minister also visited Thal and Jacobabad, where he received a warm welcome from PTI workers and supporters. He urged them to remain mobilised and continue preparations for the Islamabad march.
\n\u201cThe Street Movement launched for September 27 has entered the soil of Sindh today. InshaAllah, on September 27, the entire country will be on the streets, from Karachi to Makran, from Khyber to Mehran, and from Lahore to Gilgit-Baltistan,\u201d Mr Afridi said.
