MPU is a national initiative of the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE), Higher Education Commission (HEC), aimed at strengthening professional development, leadership, collaborative learning and human resource capacity in higher education institutions.<br \/>\nThe closing ceremony was attended by Vice Chancellor UET Peshawar Prof. Dr. Sadiq Khattak as Chief Guest while Senior Dean Prof Dr. Rizwan Gul (Convener Mentorship Program Committee), Deans, faculty members, mentors, mentees and university officials.<br \/>\nSpeaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Sadiq Khattak appreciated HEC, NAHE for its leadership, vision and continued motivation in introducing and supporting the mentoring program across Pakistan.<br \/>\n\u201cInitiatives such as, MPU provide faculty members with valuable opportunities to share their knowledge and experience and strengthen their professional capacities. I commend the mentors, mentees and the MPC UET Peshawar for their commitment and active participation in making Phase-I a successful initiative,\u201d he said.<br \/>\nProf. Dr. Rizwan Gul said, MPU Phase-I has established a formal mentoring culture at UET Peshawar, strengthened inter-departmental and inter-institutional knowledge sharing by preparing a first cohort and creating a foundation for expanding mentoring to peer-to-peer and student mentoring initiatives in future.<br \/>\n\u201cWe are committed to continuing this program and building on the experience of Phase-I to achieve greater participation and even greater success in the next phase.\u201d<br \/>\nDr. Shamaila Farooq, Director Media &#038; Publications\/Focal Person, MPU UET Peshawar said, the Phase-1 comprised of three months, demonstrated a strong commitment to gender inclusion and equitable participation where female officers were assigned key leadership responsibilities in program coordination and governance, adding, female faculty members and administrative professionals from University of Punjab, Higher Education Department, Punjab and Bahauddin Zakariya University , Multan participated as mentors and mentees.<br \/>\nThe mentoring sessions addressed key professional development areas including academic leadership and governance, professional ethics and workplace effectiveness, digital and Artificial Intelligence tools and career development and promotion pathways.<br \/>\nLater, the Vice Chancellor gave away certificates to the participating mentors and mentees in recognition of their contribution and participation in Phase-I.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PESHAWAR The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Peshawar has successfully concluded Phase-I of the HEC Mentoring Program for Universities (MPU), aimed at promoting professional development, knowledge sharing and a culture of mentoring among university faculty and administration staff.
