\nThe Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) men\u2019s and women\u2019s gymnastics teams have been announced for the National and Inter-Provincial Gymnastics Championship, scheduled to be held in Karachi from September 5 to 7 under the auspices of the Pakistan Gymnastics Federation.
\nTrials for the selection of the KP teams were held yesterday under the supervision of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Gymnastics Association. Gymnasts from different districts of the province participated enthusiastically in the trials and demonstrated their skills and abilities.
\nFollowing the completion of the trials, the selection committee officially announced the names of the athletes who will represent KP at the national-level championship.
\nThe men\u2019s team comprises Yahya and Zohaib from Peshawar, Ahmed from Mardan, and Rizwan, Zakaria and Hafeez from Nowshera.
\nIn the women\u2019s category, Zimal Wazir, who secured first position in the trials, Nasiha Gul, who finished second, and Marosh, who secured third position, have been selected to represent Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
\nSpeaking on the occasion, KP Gymnastics Association Secretary Muhammad Raja appreciated the outstanding performances of all the athletes and urged the selected gymnasts to further improve their skills and preparations ahead of the championship. He expressed hope that the KP contingent would win maximum medals and bring laurels to the province at the national event.
\nMuhammad Raja also appreciated the efforts of the members of the selection committee, particularly Pakistan Gymnastics Federation-qualified technical officials Shams-ur-Rehman Orakzai and Sabir Shah, for conducting the trials and selecting the athletes on merit.
\nHe said that the selection of talented athletes on merit was an important step towards promoting gymnastics in the province and providing promising players with opportunities to compete at the national level.
\nHe expressed confidence that the selected KP men\u2019s and women\u2019s teams would put up an impressive performance in Karachi and make the province proud.
\nIt may be mentioned that Shams-ur-Rehman Orakzai will accompany the team as coach, while Muhammad Raja will serve as team manager during the championship.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
