Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi and Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Pakistan, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, on Friday stressed the importance of religious harmony, tolerance and Pakistan\u2019s role in promoting global peace during a meeting at the Governor House.
\nNorwegian scholar Dr. Leif Hetland and other dignitaries were also present, said a statement issued here by Governor House Peshawar.
\nThe statement said the meeting covered interfaith harmony, peaceful coexistence, and matters of mutual interest.
\nGovernor Kundi praised Maulana Azad for his efforts to promote religious harmony and peace worldwide, saying the world urgently needs stability.
\nHe said Pakistan played an effective diplomatic role during the recent US-Iran tensions by bringing both sides to talks, which was appreciated internationally.
\n\u201cThis proves Pakistan is a responsible state that seeks peace and stability in the region and the world,\u201d he added.
\nThe governor noted that KP has vast potential in natural resources, affordable electricity, gas, minerals and religious tourism.
