DHAKA\/NEW DELHI: Bangladesh warned the country\u2019s media not to publicize the statements of exiled former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who is due to give a virtual address on Wednesday from India to mark the second anniversary of the uprising that ousted her.<\/p>\n
Hasina has remained in India since the student-led protests toppled her government in 2024. She was sentenced to death in 2025 for crimes against humanity over her crackdown on the demonstrations, a verdict she \u200chas dismissed as \u200clegally void.<\/p>\n
The 78-year-old is due to make her \u200bfirst \u200cpublic \u2060appearance, albeit \u200bby video \u2060link, since she fled Dhaka, at an event hosted by the Foreign Correspondents\u2019 Club of South Asia in New Delhi alongside her son, Sajeeb Wazed Joy, and other speakers.<\/p>\n
