\nPakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has said the federal government\u2019s \u201ccountdown has begun\u201d after his party secured fewer seats in the ongoing \u201crigged\u201d elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
\nThe Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz\u2019s (PML-N) government at the Centre is backed by several parties, with the PPP remaining its principal ally. However, during the AJK elections, Bilawal\u2019s party repeatedly alleged that the polls were rigged.
\nThe PML-N has secured a simple majority to form the government in Azad Jammu and Kashmir after winning 23 of the 45 seats, according to Prime Minister\u2019s Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah.
\n\u201cTo my friends in the PML-N, can you hear that sound?\u201d The countdown for the federal government has begun,\u201d the PPP chairman said in a video message.
\nAnnouncing a public gathering in Bagh district, Bilawal urged supporters in Poonch to prepare for the rally on August 10, saying: \u201cPoonch, I am coming. Get ready.\u201d
\nDescribing the polls as \u201cneither free nor fair\u201d, Bilawal alleged they were \u201crigged elections\u201d, \u201cbullet elections\u201d, \u201cmurderous elections\u201d and \u201cbloody elections\u201d.
\nDespite the outcome, he congratulated party workers, saying the PPP had secured victory in nine electoral seats. \u201cYou have won nine seats for the Pakistan Peoples Party despite all this,\u201d he said.
\nBilawal also vowed to reclaim what he described as seats \u201cstolen\u201d in Mirpur and Muzaffarabad, adding that the PPP would continue its struggle.
\n\u201cThe Pakistan Peoples Party does not lose courage. We do not retreat, and we do not leave the field,\u201d he said.
\nHis warning came moments after senior PPP leader and Sindh minister, Sharjeel Inam Memon, also issued a similar warning.
\nMemon, blasting the PML-N leadership, warned: \u201cThe countdown begins for the federal government. \u201cPML-N, in collaboration with the Election Commission, had given ballot papers to its candidates 2 days ago.\u201d
\nMemon further alleged that the administration was not even listening to the complaints of the current president and prime minister of the AJK.
\n\u201cHistoric rigging was carried out in the AJK poll,\u201d he alleged. Referring to the 2024 \u201crigged\u201d elections, the PPP leader questioned whether PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz had won their seats.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
