\nAllama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) and the National Language Promotion Department (NLPD) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote the national language Urdu through collaborative efforts in research, teaching and academic activities.
\nThe collaboration aims to promote Urdu language, initiate joint research projects, exchange educational publications and research reports, organize academic activities by mutual consent and utilize the expertise and resources of both institutions to improve the quality of research and community services.
\nThe MoU was signed by Vice Chancellor AIOU, Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood on behalf of Allama Iqbal Open University and Director General NLPD, Prof. Dr. Mazhar Saleem on behalf of the National Language Promotion Department.
\nSpeaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood said that strong cooperation among institutions for the promotion of the national language is the need of the hour. He expressed hope that this partnership would provide new opportunities for Urdu teaching, research and academic development, benefiting students, teachers and researchers.
\nDirector General NLPD, Prof. Dr. Mazhar Saleem, termed the collaboration an important step towards the promotion and effective implementation of the national language. He said that joint initiatives by both institutions would contribute significantly to enriching Urdu\u2019s academic and research resources and enhancing its usage.
