He added that the provincial government is taking effective steps to promote adventure tourism, and the successful expedition reflects those ongoing efforts.<br \/>\nAccording to Malik Adil Iqbal, the expedition was organized with the patronage and technical support of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA). The team, comprising climbers from different districts of the province, successfully hoisted the national flag atop Thalo Zom, an achievement expected to further promote mountaineering and adventure tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.<br \/>\nOfficials said the expedition began on July 9, and after an arduous eight-day journey, the team reached the 6,050-metre summit on July 17. During the climb, the mountaineers crossed the rugged terrain of Kumrat and Chitral, traversing glaciers, deep crevasses and steep snow-covered slopes. Ice screws were installed at particularly dangerous sections to facilitate the ascent, while the final push to the summit took approximately eight hours of continuous climbing.<br \/>\nThe climbers thanked the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority for its technical assistance and logistical support, saying the institution played a key role in the success of the expedition.
